New LEAN resource center helps lawyers with efficiency

A new collection of LEAN Resources specially cultivated for attorneys to help improve a practice, time management, and processes is now available through the State Bar Michigan.

LEAN is a system designed to eliminate waste and inefficiency while also creating opportunities to increase quality while reducing costs. By incorporating LEAN principles into a law practice, lawyers can maximize thier efficiency as practitioners to help achieve their personal and professional goals.

Compiled by the LEAN/Continuous Improvement Subcommittee of the Affordable Legal Services Committee, LEAN Resources are now available at michbar.org/LEAN.

The resources include detailed information on what LEAN is, why attorneys should use LEAN, and how to incorporate LEAN. There are also explanations for how to document automation using TRIAD, how to implement a LEAN process with DMAIC, and ways to continuously improve by eliminating DOWNTIME.

The pages also include a question-and-answer video with an attorney who is a LEAN practitioner, and a collection of useful tools and additional resources.
