ArtParty honorary chairs

Anton Art Center, a nonprofit organization with a mission to enrich and inspire people of all ages through the arts, recently announced that retired Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Mark Switalski and his wife, former Judge Jodi Debbrecht Switalski, will serve as honorary chairs for the 2023 ArtParty.

“We’re thrilled to have the Honorable Jodi and Mark Switalski as our honorary chairs for this year’s ArtParty event, said Phil Gilchrist, Anton Art Center executive director. “Their commitment to the arts and the community is an inspiration to us all, and we’re grateful for their support.”

The event —  scheduled Thursday, Sept. 21 from 6-8 p.m. at Anton Art Center in Mt. Clemens — is the organization’s largest fundraising effort of the year.

The theme is “Express Yourself,” and the theme color is Viva Magenta. The event will feature a variety of entertainment options, including live music, art demonstrations and hands-on art experience that showcase the work the Anton does across Macomb County.

Mark Switalski’s judicial career spanned three decades, the last two as a member of the circuit court bench in Mount Clemens. He retired late last year and joined Switalski Law PLLC, a law firm established by his wife a few years earlier.

Jodi Switalski is a former Oakland County district judge.

“The Anton  Art Center plays a significant role in the cultural and economic life or Mount Clemens and the surrounding area,” the Switalskis said in a recent statement. “We are incredibly lucky to have this iconic space that promotes the arts through events, exhibitions and engagement in our community. We are proud to be a part of the 2023 event.”

ArtParty draws supporters of the center, community members and civil leaders from across Macomb County.

Tickets will be available for purchase beginning in August.
