The Housing Task Force of Legal Services Corporation (LSC) has released a new issue brief on the role of mobile and manufactured housing in housing insecurity and instability.
The brief identifies several policy changes that can protect manufactured homeowners from predatory conditions and losing their homes. It also looks at how civil legal aid organizations are playing a significant role in advocating for proper enforcement of state and local policies, providing “know your rights” trainings to vulnerable communities and representing those facing eviction.
This is the second brief in a four-part series. The Housing Task Force's first brief looked at the problem of illegal evictions and the remaining two will cover long-term (extended stay) motel rentals and contracts for deeds.
