'Court Support Staff Certification' training offered in Detroit July 26-27

The Michigan Judicial Institute will present "Court Support Staff Certification Training" on Wednesday and Thursday, July 26-27, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago-Detroit Branch, 1600 East Warren Ave. in Detroit.

MJI is pleased to offer a regional court support staff certification training. This is a voluntary certification process for newer court and county clerk support staff. This training has been developed in collaboration with court administrator associations and county clerks.

The purpose of court support staff certification is to assure that front-line clerks, deputy clerks, clerks/typists, receptionists, and other support staff have the knowledge and specialized skills necessary to perform their jobs with competence and confidence.

The training will cover four core modules:

• Purposes and Responsibilities of Courts

• Customer Service

• Records, Policy, and Procedures

• Professionalism and Ethics

Attendance at both days of the training is required. To register, visit https://mjieducation.mi.gov and scroll down to "Upcoming MJI Events."
