The Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner’s office’s National Association of Counties (NACo) award-winning program, Water Infrastructure 101: “What You Need to Know Below and Beyond” library discussions in partnership with Bloomfield Township Public Library, located at 1099 Lone Pine Road, Bloomfield Township, Michigan announces two in-person discussions.
On Thursday, October 5, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., a discussion entitled “What We Do” will be presented. This is one of a two-part series with the next meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 19, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. with the “Areas of Concern” presentation being discussed.

The following library discussions are scheduled from October into the next year:
Water Infrastructure 101: “What You Need to Know Below and Beyond” discussion entitled “Preparing the Road Ahead” with Senior Communications Manager Craig Bryson of the Road Commission for Oakland County joining Water Resources Commissioner Jim Nash to discuss water and drainage infrastructure, among other topics. This discussion will be held Thursday, November 16, at 7 p.m. in partnership with the Rochester Hills Public Library, located at 500 Olde Town Road, Rochester, Michigan. The Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Water/Ways will focus on the importance of water and look at the variety of ways water impacts life, society, and other aspects of existence. This exhibit will be showcased by the Oxford Public Library and will feature Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner Jim Nash as the first guest speaker. On Wednesday, December 13, at 7 p.m., he will present the discussion entitled, “What You Need to Know Below and Beyond Regarding the Ways of Water” as part of the Oakland County Water Resources Water Infrastructure 101 series. The event will be held at the Oxford Public Library, located at 530 Pontiac Street, Oxford, Michigan. For additional information, contact the Oxford Public Library at 248-628-3034.
Water Infrastructure 101: “What You Need to Know Below and Beyond” discussion entitled “Rain Gardens” in partnership with the Auburn Hills Public Library, in observance of Earth Day, will be held on Saturday, April 20, at 2 p.m. The Auburn Hills Public Library is located at 3400 East Seyburn Drive, Auburn Hills, Michigan. Since 2018, the Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner’s office has implemented the program Water Infrastructure 101: “What You Need to Know Below and Beyond” library discussions series in partnership with Oakland County local libraries. It continues to be well received and supported by the library community. This special public awareness effort and library partnership was recognized as a national model and received a NACo 2020 Achievement Award in the library category for being an innovative program. The Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner’s office will continue this educational tradition and partnership with libraries across the county.
