Edmund "Ed" Joseph Sikorski, Jr. passed away peacefully on February 14, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.
Ed was born on April 9, 1944, in Detroit, to Edmund and Agnes Sikorski.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Tennessee and a Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit School of Law.
As a long time resident of Ann Arbor, Ed’s renowned law practice allowed him to pursue his interests in mediation and conflict resolution.
His many professional accomplishments include multiple publications, his appointment as lead council for the MHSAA, and arguing a case before the Michigan Supreme Court.
Ed considered his family to be his greatest accomplishment: his wife, Beverly (Murrell) Sikorski; his daughters, Santine (Dave) Harlock of Ann Arbor and Shauna (John) Griffith of Golden, Colorado; and his stepsons, Jeffery (Tonya) Koepp and Brian (Deanna) Koepp of Ann Arbor. He was the proud grandfather of Annika, Ashley H., Lila, Mary-Grace, Presley, Ryland, Kelsea, and Ashley C, and devoted companion of
Jeannette Bovensiep. Survivors also include his loving brothers, John (Susan) and Paul (Nancy) Sikorski as well as cherished friends and colleagues.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; his brother, Jerome Sikorski; his stepson, Greg Koepp; and his grandson, William Koepp.
Ed will be remembered for the pride he took in his Captain's license and as an Eagle Scout. He had a true passion for boating on The Negotiator and fishing. His hobbies included navigation, mediation, and a great martini. He encouraged family and friends with words of wisdom including favorites, "Show up and do your best," and "Fail to plan and you plan to fail."
A burial of cremated remains will be held on April 19, 2024 at 2:30 pm at Washtenong Memorial Park Cemetery in Ann Arbor. The family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Barton Hills Country Club in Ann Arbor.
