Author Angeline Boulley visit set April 17


Best-selling author Angeline Boulley will be visiting Muskegon as a stop on her tour for the Great Michigan Read. She will be speaking about her book, “Firekeeper’s Daughter,” an electrifying thriller layered with a rich exploration of the modern Native experience, a reckoning of current and historical injustices, and a powerful celebration of community.

The event is set 6 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, at Orchard View High School Auditorium.

A book sale and signing will follow the presentation.

‘Weathering the Storm’ set

The Muskegon Museum of Art will present “John Steuart Curry: Weathering the Storm,” a showcase reunion of Curry’s most iconic masterpieces and a fresh perspective into the life and art of one of America’s most influential artists. His paintings depict picturesque rural landscapes, communal gatherings, and  devastating natural disasters that impacted the Midwest, influenced the national perception of life in the region through popular culture and media in the late 1920’s. WMS Around the World Part II
set for April 19
