It is mindboggling to realize the effects of slowing down and simply observe and pay attention to this present, sacred moment. I have been writing these articles for the Legal News papers for 26 years now. Each time I sit down to write an article I find myself becoming very quiet and relaxed and very motivated to think slowly and deeply about the subject I am writing about. I find it so personally fulfilling because I become quiet and listen carefully to what I am feeling and thinking in this moment.
As we walk gently through each day there are so many loving and good things we will see: People smiling and being kind to one another by opening doors, gently greeting one another, speaking kind words to each other, being grateful for or existence and reflecting on what life is meant to be for us and what life is all about.
There is such wisdom in each present moment. But if I keep rushing to the next moment, I miss so much internal peace that will come to me by gently observing and experiencing this present moment. Each moment of life is meant to be an experience of God. It can be so easy to minimize this and keep rushing. I think the greatest paradox of life is what a profound and loving experience will happen to me when I gently and slowly focus on this present, sacred moment. There is so much peace and so much wisdom in the gentle and slow embrace of this present moment of life.
My emotional, spiritual and physical systems will come together when I stop rushing to the next moment. There is no need to hurry anywhere but simply a need to feel happy and peaceful. To be happy and peaceful will happen when I stop rushing.
I have often wondered what is the purpose of focused attention on what I need to do to accomplish things. As the years pass by, I realize more and more that to be focused attentively and slowly on something or someone, I experience a relaxed feeling and a deeper belief in loving God, which then helps me to be more relaxed and more gently focused.
When I gently experience the present moment, I experience peace. I experience wisdom. I experience love. I experience God.
Life is so simple when I gently and reflectively embrace and experience life in each moment.
