    Children Trust Michigan is recognizing the importance of preventing child abuse and neglect with a month of activities that will culminate with a special ceremony at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, at the State Capitol.
    Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has proclaimed April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.

  • Law school’s team wins William and Mary Colonial Cup Competition

    Wayne State University law School students Christian Sarafa and Erli Metko earned a first-place finish in the 2024 Colonial Cup Transactional Law Competition held March 30 at William & Mary Law School in Williamsburg, VA. 
    The team’s registration and travel was funded by the Taft Transactional Law Competition Fund and coached by Professor Eric Zacks.

    U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and author and lawyer John Grisham joined leaders from 130 organizations funded by the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) and other advocates for access to justice at a forum and gala on April 9 celebrating LSC’s 50th Anniversary.  

  • Macomb County Board of Commissioners Announces commissioner vacancy

    Preliminary election results from  Tuesday’s vote indicate that Commissioner Macomb County Mai Xiong will be taking office as a State Representative for District 13.  
    This will be official, and a vacancy created, once the election is certified by the State Canvassing Board and Commissioner Xiong’s letter of resignation is accepted by the BOC.
