Budget and Management director honored by board

Oakland County Budget and Management Director Laurie Van Pelt (third from right) was honored for her leadership and management of the county’s budgets at the Wednesday July 7, Board of Commissioners meeting. Because of her expertise, the county has continued to win top financial recognitions such as the Government Finance Officers Association’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award and many others. She was recently recognized as Crain’s Detroit Business CFO Award Winner for 2010.   Congratulating her on receiving a proclamation from the board were (left to right) Christian Van Pelt and Lauren Van Pelt (her son and daughter), Ron Van Pelt (her husband of 30 years), Commissioner Thomas F. Middleton, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, and Oakland County Board Chairman Bill Bullard Jr.
