DNR seeks volunteers to weed out invasive plants

CLAY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- The Department of Natural Resources has announced a schedule of volunteer stewardship workdays in December at five southeastern Michigan state parks and recreation areas. The department says it needs people to help cut invasive shrubs, helping protect and restore the areas and improve habitat for important plants and animals.
