Rapid Fire Seminar, banquet, silent auction hosted by MAJ, May 4-5

The Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ) will present its Annual Rapid Fire Seminar and its Annual Convention Banquet on Friday and Saturday, May 4-5, at The Henry in Dearborn. On Friday, May 4, the Annual Rapid Fire Seminar-New Ways to Succeed will begin with 8:30 a.m. registration followed by the seminar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Co-Moderators MAJ President Michael Behm and MAJ Executive Board Member Linda Turek have assembled an all-star cast of the most effective and influential members of the trial bar, whose innovative ideas and eye-opening strategies promise to make the 2012 Rapid Fire Seminar the best yet. The Rapid-Fire Seminar features a silent auction with proceeds benefiting MAJ's amicus efforts. Cost is $175 for MAJ members; $145 for MAJ members practicing less than 4 years; $235 for non-MAJ-members; and $75 for MAJ sustaining & student members. All Rapid Fire Seminar materials are in digital format. Add $75 for an optional hard-copy handbook. On Saturday, May 5, the Annual Convention Banquet opens with a welcoming reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Keynote speaker for the event will be David Axelrod, Communications director and chief campaign strategist for the Obama re-election campaign. Throughout the evening of fun and politics members will thank MAJ President Mike Behm for his leadership and dedication to the cause of justice and welcome President-Elect Marc Lipton who ascends to the MAJ presidency on July 1, 2012. Awards will also be recognized at the banquet. Michigan Supreme Court Justice Diane Hathaway is the winner of the 2012 "MAJ Judicial Integrity Award."
