'The Ins and Outs of Renting Your Residential Property' examined
The Oakland County Bar Association's Municipal Law Committee presents "The Ins and Outs of Renting Your Residential Property" on Thursday, April 25, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Oakland County Bar Center in Bloomfield Hills.
The difficult housing market has created a new class of landlord; landlords by circumstance rather than desire. Renting residential property is regulated by state and local governments. Complying with these laws is necessary, but the path to compliance is not always clear.
Whether attendees regularly represent landlords, own a rental property, or get asked for free advice from loved ones with rental property, this seminar will arm them with the ins and outs of advising clients on handling the many issues being a landlord creates.
Discussions will include legal and judicial issues that are involved in renting out residential property.
Seminar speakers will include Oakland County 45A District Court Judge Jamie Wittenberg; Barry Malone of Adkison, Need, & Allen PLLC; and Rachel Tucker of Joelson Rosenberg PLC.
The cost for those who pre-register are $45 for OCBA members, $22 for OCBA new lawyers, and $60 for all non-OCBA members. At the door OCBA members will pay $60; OCBA new lawyers will pay $42; and all non-OCBA members pay $78.
For additional information, call the OCBA at (248) 334-3400 or visit www.ocba.org.
