Judge issues no-contact order for Dillon, ex-wife
REDFORD TOWNSHIP (AP) -- A Wayne County judge has ordered state Treasurer Andy Dillon and his ex-wife to have no contact unless it involves a child.
Andy Dillon and Carol Dillon each asked for personal protection orders. Judge Susan Hubbard instead signed a one-year restraining order Tuesday.
Andy Dillon's attorney, James Harrington, says it's appropriate. He says Andy Dillon doesn't want to be distracted from his job. Carol Dillon declined to comment.
She accuses him of "assaultive behavior" while drunk at her Redford Township home on July 13. Harrington says Andy Dillon "absolutely" wasn't drunk or assaultive.
Andy Dillon accused her of stealing his phone from a car the same day. She denies it was theft. Carol Dillon says she returned the phone to state troopers who found her at the Redford police department.
