Medical Main Street seeks 'Wow Factor' displays

Oakland County's Medical Main Street is seeking nominations to showcase innovative and eye-catching health care and life science products and technologies at the INNO-VENTION 2013 conference in Troy. Demonstration Alley, as the display area is called, has a limited number of spaces that will allow selected vendors to show innovative technologies and products during INNO-VENTION 2013, a Medical Main Street conference. The deadline for entries is Sept. 30. "Michigan conducts some of the most advanced research and development in the medical device industry and Oakland County is a leading center of information technology," Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson said. "This is a wonderful opportunity for companies to showcase Michigan-made innovations and technologies to their peers and to a global audience." INNO-VENTION 2013 focuses on how information technology is fueling changes in health care and its impact on the next generation of medical devices. It will be held Nov. 6-8 at the Troy Marriott. The conference, with the Medical Main Street Network, builds valuable relationships and productive collaborations in the Southeast Michigan region and globally. Those interested in nominating a product or technology must submit a form along with a one-page description of the innovation to be displayed and photos of the product. Those selected will be notified. The fee to participate in Demonstration Alley is $500, which includes conference registration. Last year's INNO-VENTION, the inaugural Medical Main Street conference, was attended by more than 400 health professionals, clinicians, investors and suppliers. A global audience of more than 1,000 people viewed the conference live stream on Detroit Public Television while another 57,000 people were reached through social media in the United States and internationally in Japan, the United Arab Emirates, Norway, Germany, Panama and Canada. INNO-VENTION 2013 will also be live streamed on Detroit Public Television. In 2008, Patterson created Medical Main Street with the area's leaders in health care, research and development, education and industry.
