Retired judge honored with award

Former Cooley Law School Board member, retired Judge Donna T. Morris (second from right) has been honored by the State Bar of Michigan with the Frank J. Kelley Distinguished Public Service Award.

Congratulating her at the SBM annual meeting last month were (left to right) SBM Immediate Past President Bruce Courtade, SBM President Brian Einhorn, and Morris’ grandson Max Isaacoff.

Morris, a 1977 graduate of Cooley, is a retired Midland County Probate Court judge.  She led the drive to plan, create and run the Midland County Juvenile Care Center.

She also assisted the Michigan legislature in updating the Michigan Mental Health Code. In addition, Morris created the Dorothy Dow Arbury Pinecrest Endowment Fund to operate Pinecrest Farms, an assisted living facility providing care to the developmentally disabled, the mentally ill, and the elderly.
