'Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court' free seminars offered in April

The Citizens Alliance for the Oakland County Probate and Circuit Courts will conduct free seminars titled "Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court" at the following locations:

--Tuesday, April 8, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the City of Farmington Hills Senior Division Costick Center, 28600 Eleven Mile Road in Farmington Hills.

--Thursday, April 10, from 1 to 3 p.m. in room 303 of the Troy Community Center, 3179 Livernois in Troy.

This program is designed to enlighten and educate senior citizens and their families so that they may make informed decisions regarding their estate planning and understand the probate process. The seminars will provide attendees with information on wills, trusts, powers of attorney, how to begin probate proceedings, when to consider use of guardianships and conservatorships and how "avoiding probate" could cause more harm than good.

Jill Koney Daly, probate register for the Oakland County Probate Court, will speak at both seminars on behalf of the courts. Attorney Alisa Kwang of Couzens, Lansky, Fealk, Ellis, Roeder, & Lazar will speak at the Farmington Hills seminar and attorney Thomas Trainer of Kemp Klein Law Firm will be speaking at the Troy seminar. Materials will be available and adequate time will be available for questions.
