Keynote speaker announced for Medical Main Street event

Medical Main Street recently announced that Krischa Winright, chief information officer for Priority Health and vice president of information technology for Spectrum Health, will be the keynote speaker for INNO-VENTION 2014, Southeastern Michigan's premier healthcare and life science conference. Winright will present "Digital Web & Mobile Experience: What Does It Really Mean for Healthcare?" INNO-VENTION, now in its third year, will be conducted Oct. 21-22 at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. "We're delighted we were able to secure Ms. Winright as our keynote speaker," Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson said. "Priority Health insures more than 600,000 residents so our speaker will have a bird's eye view of the challenges that face healthcare and technology." With more than 20 years of technology and health care experience, Winright has been instrumental in leading the development of initiatives to improve the consumer experience and keep Priority Health at the forefront of the industry. Examples of her work can be seen through the company's launch of consumer-convenience initiatives such as its transparency program that publishes facility costs for nearly 300 procedures and a virtual visits system that enables individuals to see a doctor from their home. Along with the Medical Main Street Network, INNO-VENTION builds valuable relationships and productive regional and global collaborations. Registration is $149 and is available online at www.MedicalMainStreet.com. INNO-VENTION 2014 includes: - Pre-conference networking reception. - Demonstration Alley exhibits. - Expanded Commercialization Competition during which entrepreneurs pitch new investment opportunities to potential investors. - Michigan Economic Development Corp.'s Pure Michigan Business Connect-matchmaking with purchasing agents from major healthcare providers. - Concurrent industry break-out sessions on Intellectual Property, Accountable Care Organizations, Wellness and Mobile Healthcare. - The INNO-VATOR of the Year Award luncheon. Applications are being accepted from life science and healthcare companies interested in showcasing their innovative products and technologies at Demonstration Alley. These are healthcare-related products that are new-to-market, visual and award winning. Companies wishing to be considered for space on Demonstration Alley should apply online at www.MedicalMainStreet.com by Sept. 5. Online nominations are also being accepted for the 2014 "INNO-VATOR of the Year" award, honoring the creators of a medical device which demonstrates the most dramatic change in the healthcare industry in Michigan. To be considered for the award, the device must have been developed in Michigan, achieved prototype development and validation, and incorporate a game-changing innovation. INNO-VENTION 2013 attracted more than 600 health professionals, clinicians, investors and suppliers. A global audience of more than 95,000 people was reached through social media in the United States, Europe, Asia and Canada. Patterson created Medical Main Street in 2008.
