Trial Advocates plan Annual Holiday Party

The Michigan Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates will hold its Annual Holiday Party on Friday, Dec. 5, at the Detroit Golf Club, 17911 Hamilton Rd., beginning at 6:30 p.m. "In the spirit of the holidays, this year the ABOTA will be accepting donations to the Old Newsboys' Goodfellow Fund," said a spokesman for the board. "A grand tally of the contributions will be announced at the Holiday Dinner." Also that evening, the ABOTA will present several awards to distinguished recipients. The Richard B. Baxter Exemplary Advocate Award, which recognizes the preeminent Michigan trial lawyer who best exemplifies the tradition of civility and integrity in the legal profession, will be presented to Robert S. Krause of Dickinson Wright. The Lifetime Judicial Achievement Award will be presented to Pamela R. Harwood, who heads her own firm in Troy. A former Wayne County Circuit Court judge, Harwood also formerly served on the bench of the 36th District Court in Detroit. The current president of the ABOTA is Tom Cranmer, an attorney with Miller Canfield. President-elect is Kathleen Bogas, while James Tamm serves as treasurer and Robert Darling as secretary of the organization. Published: Mon, Nov 17, 2014
