Man accused of putting dead girlfriend in barrel competent

WARREN (AP) - A judge says a suburban Detroit man accused of killing his girlfriend and concealing her body in a plastic drum is mentally fit to stand trial. Scott Wobbe's court hearings were suspended in October while authorities evaluated his competence. On Tuesday, Warren District Judge Michael Chupa found the 37-year-old fit for trial. The body of 22-year-old Theresa DeKeyzer was found in September in a drum at a storage site in Wayne County's Plymouth Township. She lived 33 miles away in Warren and hadn't been seen for much of the summer. Wobbe is charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and mutilation of a dead body.
