Board seeks volunteers to serve on Mental Health Authority

The Oakland County Board of Commissioners is seeking individuals to fill four vacancies for the Community Mental Health Authority. Interested individuals must be at least 18-years-of-age and residents of Oakland County. The board seeks to appoint individuals to oversee contracts with service providers, review quarterly financial reports and annual budgets, as well as requests for new funds. Other duties associated with the Oakland County Community Mental Health Authority include planning, funding and administering an array of programs for adults and children with serious mental illnesses, emotional disturbances and/or developmental disabilities. The current vacancies are: - One (1) Secondary Consumer, application deadline Saturday, February 28. - Two (2) General Public, application deadline Saturday, February 28. - One (1) Working Involved Mental Health Provider, application deadline Saturday, February 28. Individuals selected will serve a three-year term, beginning April 1, 2015-March 31, 2018. A mileage reimbursement and per diem will be provided.
