The Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, and the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation are co-sponsoring a luncheon on “The Deliberation of Real Juries” featuring ABF Research Professor Sharri Diamond, national jury expert and recipient of the 2010 Harry J. Kalven Jr. Prize awarded by the Law and Society Association.
Diamond will present her research based on the videotaped deliberations of fifth juries in civil cases, including juries’ understanding of jury instructions and applications of the law.
The lunch event will take place Friday, June 19, at noon in Room 115 of the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit. This is a free event but registration is required. Register online at www.fbamich.org or contact the Fellows office at fellows@abfn.org or 800-292-5095.
