Association of court reporters plans August golf outing in metro area

The Michigan Association of Professional Court Reporters (MAPCR) is hosting its 22nd Annual Golf Classic on Friday, Aug. 21. The event typically has been held in the Lansing or Grand Rapids area but this year it will take place at Coyote Preserve Golf Club conveniently located for Metro Detroit and tri-county area golfers off US-23 in Fenton.

MAPCR’s mission is to advance the interests and general welfare of the shorthand profession in Michigan and to establish and maintain high standards of professional education, competence, and performance in the field of shorthand reporting.

The proceeds raised in this annual event will be used to support the preservation, promotion, and betterment of the court-reporting field, including helping with student recruitment, ethics education, page-rate legislation, anti-contracting legislation, CART awareness, and to continue its public relations campaign to keep the profession strong in Michigan.

Sponsorships are still available for the event.  For additional  information, call Roberta Flick at 248-478-7033.

The golf event will feature:

• Lunch before shotgun start.

• Closest to the pin, longest drive competitions, hole-in-one, and putting contests.
• Skins game.
• 50-50 raffle.
