Organizations with proposals for advances in health care that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the delivery of health services are encouraged to apply for Health Innovation Grants through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
MDHHS recently released a Request for Proposal for organizations interested in applying the grants. A priority for Governor Snyder and MDHHS, funds will support one-time projects up to $35,000 to improve the delivery of health services in Michigan.
MDHHS plans to award grants to approximately 35-40 projects to help bridge the gap between innovative ideas and their implementation. Michigan is looking to encourage innovative advances in health care that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the delivery of health services in the state.
This is the third year Michigan has awarded the grants. Last year, 49 projects were funded for a total of $1.25 million. For previous awardees that have completed their projects, organizations can apply to support replication projects resulting from completed 2015 initiatives.
Applicants may be public, non-profit, and private organizations. MDHHS is looking for projects that have the potential to be replicated and have clearly defined outcomes. Organizations are encouraged to include matching funds in their proposal in support of their intended projects.
Questions from applicants are due by August 26, and all applications are due September 1. Questions regarding the RFP should be sent in writing to the email address listed in the application.
