Lorie Savin to run for Circuit Court bench

Oakland County Circuit Court Family Division Referee Lorie Savin recently announced that she has pulled petitions and will be a candidate for Oakland County Circuit Court.

Savin is running for the seat currently held by Judge Joan Young who is retiring after serving nearly 28 years on the bench. Young’s seat is in the Family Division of the Circuit Court.

Savin is an award winning referee with more than twenty years of experience in family law. Her expertise has been widely praised during her thirteen years of service to the court and the families of Oakland County. She is a published author on family law, as well as a public speaker on the issue. She is an appointee on the State Bar of Michigan’s Judicial Ethics Committee, and is an active board member of two professional associations.

“I am running for Circuit Court judge to bring strength to the bench, to ensure that our citizens get their fair day in court, and to continue to serve families involved in the legal system,” Savin said.

“Oakland County has an excellent Circuit Court with outstanding judges. But there’s a perception in society that average people do not have the same access to justice as the wealthy and the powerful. I will follow the example set by Judge Young where my courtroom will be run efficiently and fairly. It will be a place where the rights of all are upheld, and the laws and the Constitution are followed.”

Savin grew up in Oak Park and Southfield, where she attended public schools. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the Wayne State University Law School. Savin is active in her community including volunteer work for her local schools. She is a member of Temple Israel.

Savin has retained Murray Communications to assist with her campaign. Follow the Savin campaign at: Internet: SavinForJudge.com; Facebook: facebook.com/SavinForJudge; Twitter: @SavinForJudge; Instagram: instagram.com/SavinForJudge; Pinterest: pinterest.com/SavinforJudge.
