Overhaul plan for part of I-275 under way, website offers updates

FARMINGTON HILLS (AP) - Plans are moving forward for an $80 million project to overhaul part of Interstate 275 in the Detroit area.

The Michigan Department of Transportation last Thursday said it's created a website for the project to offer updates about road closures and other information.

The project to replace concrete on I-275 between 5 Mile through the interchange with I-96, I-696 and M-5 is expected to begin this spring.

The project involves work in the Farmington Hills, Novi and Livonia areas.

MDOT plans to work with the Wayne County Road Commission and the Road Commission of Oakland County to coordinate construction.
