Mark Weiss and M. Jon Posner Day to raise scholarship funds

The 16th annual Mark Weiss and M. Jon Posner Day at Comerica Park will be celebrated Friday, July 27, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. This year, the  Detroit Tigers take on the Cleveland Indians.  The picnic starts at 5:30 p.m. on the Chevrolet Pavilion located on the lower level (behind section 148 under the scoreboard), and the game begins at 7:10 p.m.  Guests will be able to enjoy a buffet that includes hot dogs, boneless chicken wings, Little Caesars Pizza (served in the 5th inning), vegetable spring rolls, Lay’s potato chips, Pepsi products, water, domestic beer, and house wine. Food service starts when the gates open and runs until the 7th inning or two hours after the regularly scheduled start time.

The actual cost for the picnic and ticket to the game is $52. A minimum donation of $125 is being asked for each ticket. The remaining $73 will be a tax-deductible gift to the Mark Weiss and M. Jon Posner Memorial Scholarship Fund. The scholarship was established as a joint project of Wayne State University Law School and the Michigan Association for Justice.  To date, 57 scholarships have been awarded to Wayne Law students through the fund.
