Special election preview hosted at Rochester Hills Public Library, Oct. 24

The Rochester Hills Public Library welcomes Oakland University Professor David Dulio for a special election preview on Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Dulio will explore the upcoming 2018 midterm elections which will determine control of the U.S. Congress for the next two years and who will serve as Michigan's governor for the next four. He will discuss many of the main factors and dynamics that are at work in this potentially historic election cycle.

"I'm excited to be able to talk to members of the community and patrons of the RHPL again about the important 2018 election," Dulio said. "We will discuss the historical and current political context around this midterm election as well as important political dynamics that are at play in 2018."

"Our community is filled with people involved and interested in local and state politics, and we want to help give those voters a chance to learn and talk about issues passionate to them in a constructive and respectful way," said Community Relations Specialist Amanda Harrison Keighley. "No matter what individual political views are, we can all benefit from a well-informed and non-partisan analysis of the upcoming election."

The program takes place Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room and is open to everyone with an RHPL library card. This program is geared toward adults but all ages are welcome. Those interested in attending are asked to register in advance at rhpl.org.
