Foundation announces 2019 scholarship winners

The Women Lawyers Association of Michigan Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2019 WLAM Foundation Awards for Outstanding Women Law Students. In addition to their superior academic performance at Michigan law schools, these individuals lead efforts to advance the position of women in important areas of the law including STEM, social justice, equality, child advocacy, and domestic violence.

Since 1997, the WLAM Foundation has awarded more than $610,500 to 252 women law students. The recipients and sponsors for each of the $3,500 scholarships for 2019 are:

• Marie Bonnici, Wayne State University School of Law—Dawn Van Hoek Scholar, sponsored by Women Lawyers of Michigan Foundation

• Tanya Elzy, Western Michigan University Cooley Law School—Dobrusin Law Scholarship, sponsored by the Dobrusin Law Firm

• Erin Emory, University of Michigan Law School—Kim Cahill Scholar, sponsored by Women Lawyers of Michigan Foundation

• Emily Garcia, University of Detroit Mercy School of Law—John Dalton & Mary Lou Peacock Scholar, sponsored by the Peacock Law Firm

• Hillary John, University of Michigan Law School—Dickinson Wright Scholar, sponsored by the Dickinson Wright Women's Network

• Clarissa Kewin, Western Michigan University Cooley Law School—WLAM Foundation Scholarship, sponsored by Women Lawyers of Michigan Foundation

• Allison Kruschke, Michigan State University College of Law—General Motors Scholarship, sponsored by General Motors Corporation

• Stephanie Moore, University of Detroit Mercy School of Law—Florence King Scholar in Patent Law, sponsored by Women Patent Lawyers

• Emily Wacyk Paski, Michigan State University College of Law—WLAM Foundation Scholarship, sponsored by Women Lawyers of Michigan Foundation

• Brianna Potter, University of Michigan School of Law—Masco Scholarship, sponsored by Masco Corporation

• Alexis Smith, Wayne State University Law School—WLAM Foundation Scholarship, sponsored by Women Lawyers of Michigan Foundation

• Jacqueline Yee, Wayne State University School of Law—General Motors Scholarship, sponsored by General Motors Corporation
