Foundation to host 20th Annual Signature Event

The Oakland County Bar Foundation, a nonprofit organization serving the citizens of Oakland County and the legal profession, will host its 20th Annual Signature Event to continue a long tradition of support for Michigan-based legal aid and education programs on Thursday, April 25, at 6:30 p.m. at the Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills. Foundation President Veronica Leonard made the announcement.

“Equal access to justice and legal education is essential to building a thriving community, and our annual Signature Event secures proper funding for programs that need it,” Leonard said. “This year’s Signature Event is extra special, as we reflect on the generosity of our donors and partners over two decades. Without them, we would not be in the position to support the programs and enact change the way we do. We’re tremendously grateful for the past 20 years of community involvement and for the bright future filled with opportunities to touch more lives.”

Proceeds from past events have assisted the important work of the CASA Program (Court-Appointed Special Advocates) through CARE House, the Family Law Assistance Project, Beaumont Hospital Legal Aid for Children and Families, Michigan Center for Civic Education Through Law, Southwest Detroit Immigrant and Refugee Center, Youth Law Conference and more. In the last five years, the Signature Event has raised over $1.7 million, and with the help of a long list of generous sponsors, the Foundation is confident this year’s event will be another successful fundraiser.

Tickets to the 20th Annual Signature Event are $175 per person and may be purchased at se2019.supportocbf.org, or by sending payment to the Oakland County Bar Foundation, 1760 S. Telegraph Road, Suite 100, Bloomfield Hills, 48302. Those who are unable to attend the event but wish to contribute to the charitable causes supported by the Foundation may send contributions to the address above.

Additionally, sponsorship opportunities are still available. For more information, contact Katherine Tillinger at 248-334-3400 or ktillinger@ocba.org.
