Focus on Revocation of Paternity Act

The Juvenile Law Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association kicked off its 2020 Fundamentals of Juvenile Law brown bag lunch lecture series with “Paternity in Juvenile and Family Cases” on Thursday, Feb. 13, at the OCBA offices in Bloomfield Hills. Program moderator Melinda Deel (right), of Melinda N. Deel PLLC, was happy to introduce guest speakers (left to right) Referee Kate Weaver and Referee Lisa Harris of Oakland County Circuit Court, Family Division. The Revocation of Paternity Act (ROPA) isn’t just for family law cases. ROPA is often used in juvenile cases, too. The speakers discussed its practical application in these cases, including real-life case studies.
