Webinar discusses staged collision & fraudulent claims

The Michigan Defense Trial Counsel (MDTC) Insurance Law Section and Explico have collaborated to present "An Exploration Into The World of Staged Collision & Fraudulent Claims" on Thursday, November 19, from noon to 1 p.m. online via Zoom.

Speakers will include Joseph Neal and Charles Funk of Explico Engineering, and John Hohmeier and Michael O'Malley of Scarfone & Geen PC

In this webinar, Funk and Neal will take attendees step by step through the process of investigating claims and determining whether or not the physical evidence is consistent with the events presented. They will cover vehicle inspections, including Event Data Recorders ("Black Box"), paint samples, questions to ask the involved parties, and what can be achieved when the vehicle is repaired or no longer available for inspection. Funk and Neal will show how to effectively communicate engineering analyses to a jury in a simple manner with numerous examples of cases that went to verdict. Hohmeier and O'Malley will provide a real-world perspective on how these technics and the Accident Damage Analysis can be used to successfully defend a case.
