'Overcoming Procrastination and Perfectionism' focus of SBM section's workshop

The Animal Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan will present an online workshop on “Overcoming Procrastination and Perfectionism” featuring presenter Hillary Rettig on Thursday, May 13, from 3 to 4 p.m. via Zoom.

Inspiration exists and is available to everyone at nearly any time. Underproductivity, procrastination, and blocks are solvable problems. The secret to achieving a state of near-perpetual inspiration is to switch from a scarcity to an abundance mindset, and also from a punishment (shame and blame) mindset to one focused on problem-solving.

This workshop by Hillary Rettig, author of the best-selling “The 7 Secrets of the Prolific and forthcoming Productivity is Power,”will delve deep into the heart of underproductivity so everyone can see, once and for all, what forces are holding them back. There will be a discussion on solutions—lots of them—that everyone can start using to immediately boost their productivity and reduce stress.

Rettig is a writer, teacher, and coach who helps writers, students, academics, activists, and other creative and committed people achieve joyful and effective productivity. Her latest book, “Productivity is Power: Five Liberating Practices for College Student”s (Infinite Art), will be published in 2021. Her earlier works, “The 7 Secrets of the Prolific” (Infinite Art, 2011) and “The Lifelong Activist” (Lantern Books, 2006), have been translated into several languages. Rettig has been a vegan and a vegan activist since 2004. She was on the organizing committee for the Grassroots Animal Rights Conference in New York City (2006), and served on IDA’s Sustainable Activism Council. In 2013, she cofounded Vegan Kalamazoo, which she continues to organize. For more on Rettig and her work, see www.hillaryrettig.com.
