Lori Ittner elected president of MDTC
Lori A. Ittner, shareholder in the Grand Rapids office of Garan Lucow Miller, P.C., was elected to the position of president of the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel Association on May 15. Ittner is the organization’s 31st president and only its second female president. Her term began May 16.

At Garan Lucow Miller, Ittner concentrates her practice in the areas of Medicare/Medicaid recover actions and defense; ERISA litigation; Michigan no fault personal injury protection benefits; and catastrophic injuries and accommodations in housing and transportation.

Ittner is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Grand Rapids Bar Association and Defense Research Institute.

The Michigan Defense Trial Counsel Association was established in 1974 to enhance and promote the Defense Bar. MDTC exists to facilitate greater exchange of views and advance the interests of civil defense.

DMBA to hold 174th annual meeting May 27
The Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association’s 174th Annual Meeting will be held Thursday, May 27 at the Greektown Casino Hotel. The Third Circuit Civil, Criminal and Family Divisions will be closed on Monday, May 31, 2010, in observance of Memorial Day.

The Wayne County Probate Court will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 31, 2010, and will reopen on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 8 a.m.
