Wayne County Third Circuit Court honored July as Juror Appreciation Month with Judge Timothy Kenny, the court’s presiding criminal judge, addressing the court’s jury pool on Monday.
“To be judged by a jury of your peers is the heart of democracy,” Chief Judge Virgil C. Smith said in a statement. “For our system to work, jury service is an absolute necessity, and essential for the effective administration of justice. Always respond to jury questionnaires and to jury summonses, for the court needs and appreciates the participation of citizens in the jury process.”
