Quick named chair of committee on civil procedure and courts
Daniel D. Quick, a member at Dickinson Wright PLLC, was named chair of the Civil Procedure and Courts Committee of the State Bar of Michigan for 2011-2012.

Quick specializes in commercial and intellectual property litigation.   Quick received his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Michigan. He is co-chair of the copyright litigation subcommittee of the American Bar Association; a member of the State Bar of Michigan, executive committee member and master of the Oakland County Inns of Court, trustee of the Oakland County Bar Foundation and co-chair of the diversity committee of the Federal Bar Association. Quick was named a Michigan Super Lawyer in business litigation and is a four-time honoree for pro bono work by the U.S. District Court, E.D. Mich.

Jaffe partner elected to board of directors for Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit

Mark D. Rubenfire, a partner in the Southfield office of Michigan-based Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C., has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit.

Since its founding in 1926, the Jewish Community Center has been dedicated to serving the city’s diverse and vibrant population with the very best in cultural, educational and recreational programming and whose goals remain the same: to make the Jewish Community Center a place where everyone feels welcome, a place of opportunity and creativity, a true center of the community. Rubenfire will be serving his first three-year term on the board through 2014.

Rubenfire serves as practice group coordinator of the firm’s real estate practice group and is past chairman of the firm’s recruiting committee, as well as a past member of Jaffe’s board of directors.

He is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan and a magna cum laude and Order of the Coif graduate of Wayne State University Law School, where he served as associate editor of the Wayne Law Review.

DMBA workshop on leveraging social media for lawyers Aug. 23
What signal are you giving off at networking events, in social media and when sending press releases to traditional media? The DMBA is hosting a workshop entitled “What are you Broadcasting? Leveraging Traditional and Social Media for Lawyers” from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Aug. 23 in the SMART Detroit Training Room of the Penobscot Building. Registration and continental breakfast is at 8 a.m. Cost is $10 for DMBA members and $15 for all others. Registration deadline is Aug. 16. There is a $5 late registration fee.
