Honigman attorneys will be featured in bankruptcy webinar

On December 5, Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP Partners Judy B. Calton and Daniel W. Linna Jr. will be the featured speakers in a free webinar entitled “What Commercial Litigators and their Clients Need to Know about Bankruptcy” to be held from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The free webinar is sponsored by Practical Law, a subscription service providing practical resources to law firms, corporate law departments and law schools. Calton and Linna are members of the firm’s Litigation, Bankruptcy, Reorganization and Creditor Rights and Commercial Transactions groups.  Calton represents clients in negotiations, disputes and insolvency and bankruptcy-related litigation. Linna concentrates his practice on litigating and resolving commercial, contract and bankruptcy disputes.

The webinar will address the fact that some of the most complex commercial litigation matters are now being dealt with in bankruptcy court. Attorneys may have to appear in bankruptcy court to pursue matters that previously had been litigated in state or federal district courts. Although bankruptcy litigation and general civil litigation may appear similar, there are many important differences. This free 60-minute webinar will provide a basic framework for commercial litigators and other attorneys who do not have extensive experience in bankruptcy litigation.
The webinar participants from Practical Law are Catherine DiFiglia, head of litigation law and Sylvie Motz, head of commercial law. To register for this webinar, please go to http://www.practicallawwebinars.com.
