Cooley event raises $4K to help stop bullying

Cooley Law School’s sixth annual spring charity event raised $4,017, which will support the Oakland Mediation Center’s implementation of the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program (OBPP). The event, which featured live music, live comedy and a silent auction, was held on Sunday, June 1,  at Cooley’s Auburn Hills campus.

The OBPP Program is designed to reduce existing bullying problems among students, prevent the development of new bullying problems, achieve better peer relations at school-all of which make the school a safer and more positive place for students to learn and develop.  OBPP has been successfully researched and implemented for more than 35 years all over the world.  Currently OBPP is used at the school, classroom, and individual levels and includes methods to reach out to parents and communities for involvement and support. Because of Cooley’s fundraising efforts more schools will have access to this educational program.
