 Jewish Bar Association of Michigan to host real estate seminar

The Jewish Bar Association of Michigan is conducting a seminar titled “2014 Legal Update: What Every Good Real Estate Lawyer Needs to Know” at the Bloomfield Township Public Library on Thursday, Nov. 6 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. The program is designed to enlighten and educate attorneys, paralegals, and others so that they can be informed as to recent changes in real estate laws and procedures. The seminar will be presented by Phillip Seaver, president of the Seaver Title Agency and David Barris, the company’s vice president for commercial services. The Bloomfield Township Public Library is located at 1099 Lone Pine Road in Bloomfield Hills. Registration is free to all JBAM?members; $25 for non-members. Space is limited. McLaughlin named ICSC U.S. Law Conference Co-Chair

Lawrence D. McLaughlin, chair of Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn’s Real Estate Department, was named co-chair of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) 2015 U.S. Law Conference, its 45th annual Law Conference, and will serve as chair of the conference in 2016. McLaughlin has served on the Law Conference Program Planning Committee since 2004 and will be the second Honigman partner to serve as chair of the conference.
The ICSC is the shopping center industry’s premier global trade association and the U.S. Law Conference is the pre-eminent legal conference for the industry attracting in excess of 1,200 registrants annually. The Law Conference features over 150 sessions presented by leaders and icons of the industry and is a key networking event. McLaughlin will serve as co-chair with chair Deborah Stear De Luca, co-chair of Holland and Knight’s National Retail Development and Leasing Team, for the 45th annual Law Conference.
McLaughlin represents developers of commercial, industrial and residential real estate locally, nationally and internationally. 
McLaughlin has been recognized by many independent sources as a leading real estate attorney. 
McLaughlin is a fellow of the prestigious American College of Real Estate Lawyers and is a member of its board of governors.
He earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School and a B.S.M.E. from the General Motors Institute.
