Western Michigan University Cooley Law School recently presented a check from its annual spring charity event to the Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center. The money, $4,172, will benefit the center’s Legacy Fund, which provides vaccines, specialty foods and emergency medical treatment for animals in the shelter. This donation marks the beginning of an innovative partnership between the school and the center. Starting this month, the center will bring animals to the WMU-Cooley Auburn Hills campus that students can take for walks. The program will be called Fitness Unleashed and it will allow the animals and students access to the campus’ 67 wooded acres.
