Judge receives NAACP award

Washtenaw County Trial Court Judge Timothy Connors, presiding judge of the Washtenaw County Peacemaking Court, is the 2018 recipient of the Honorable Distinguished Thurgood Marshall Civil Rights Award from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Ypsilanti Willow Run (YWR).

The committee stated, “It was bestowed upon Judge Connors for his remarkable years of service that meaningfully enhanced the court and the community. Very few individuals have had as much impact on the advancement of court alternatives, dispute resolution and civil and human rights. For more than a decade, his commitment has never wavered.” Connors received the award at an Oct. 20 gala at Washtenaw Community College.
