Longtime Detroit Legal News contributor Michael Brock dies, 72


Michael G. Brock, a longtime contributor to the Detroit Legal News’ Expert Witness page, died on January 27, 2019, at Beaumont Hospital-Trenton at the age of 72.

Brock, of Trenton, was born on September 20, 1946, in Detroit. He was a forensic mental health professional in private practice at Counseling and Evaluation Services in Wyandotte. He worked in the mental health field since 1974 and was in full-time private practice since 1985. Much of his practice in recent years related to driver license restoration and substance abuse evaluation, but he also consulted and served as an expert witness regarding forensic interviewing and the use of forensic interviewing protocols in cases of child sexual abuse allegations.

Brock was the beloved father of Adrienne Brock (David McLoghlin); proud grandfather of ?Ite McLoghlin; and loving partner of Kathleen Heffner. He is also survived by many other loving family and friends. Brock was preceded in death by his parents Nigel and Elsie Brock, one sister Gail, and one brother Barry.

A gathering will take place on Friday, Feb. 1, from noon until the time of the memorial service which will begin at 4 p.m. at The Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd. in Trenton. 36th District Court closed due to cold
 

The 36th District Court will be closed Thursday, January 31 due to the polar vortex and pursuant to the Court’s Local Administrative Order 2017-01, Unscheduled Court Closing.

In-Custody Felony Arraignments will be conducted at noon by the assigned Magistrate during the Court closure. All other cases scheduled for Thursday will be rescheduled and new Notices to Appear will be mailed by the Court.

Detroit Mercy Law Alumni Association Erin Go Law Networking Reception March 14
