Clark Hill attorney appointed to United Way board of directors

Maria Fracassa Dwyer, an attorney in Clark Hill’s Labor & Employment group, was recently appointed to the board of directors of United Way for Southeastern Michigan.

Dwyer will replace fellow Clark Hill attorney Reginald Turner, who served on the board for 20 years, including a term as chairman of the board, and received the Alexis de Tocqueville Award in 2018.

Dwyer will utilize her role to assist the United Way in improving the lives of Detroit residents.

United Way’s mission is to work with public, private and nonprofit partners to improve lives and empower families to be successful by uniting around education, health and economic prosperity, to build a strong, equitable community.

Dwyer focuses her practice on employment defense litigation and employment counseling.  She is in charge of Clark Hill’s Detroit Office and also serves as the co-practice leader of the Food, Beverage and Hospitality Team.
Dwyer represents clients across the employment and labor law spectrum, including the staffing, education, nonprofit and food industries.

Turner is a highly accomplished litigator, government affairs advocate and strategic advisor. He is a member of Clark Hill’s Executive Committee, Government Policy Group, and Labor and Employment Practice Group.
