Court throws out conviction of man accused of secondary role in Gov. Whitmer kidnap plot

The conviction of Joseph Morrison in connection with the 2020 plot to
kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer was vacated Tuesday afternoon by a
three-judge panel in the Court of Appeals, which ruled that under the
letter of the law, kidnapping is not considered a violent felony that
may be used to establish a terrorism charge.
