Michigan State Police conduct special applicant testing

 “Michigan State Police hit the Urban areas in search of troopers”

The Michigan State Police will conduct special applicant testing in Metropolitan urban areas to meet hiring demands.  With more than 270 new troopers hired since June of 2011, and the commencement of 126th trooper recruit school with 115 new trooper recruits on January 5, 2014; the Michigan State Police will be conducting special applicant testing in the cities of Detroit, Flint, and Kalamazoo to meet their continued hiring demands.

In unprecedented fashion the Michigan State Police will offer the Entry Level Law Enforcement Exam and the MCOLES physical fitness test on the same date, February 8, 2014, at the University of Michigan Flint.  With an eye on the diverse populous of the Metropolitan area, the Michigan State Police are seeking to attract diverse candidates by offering the initial testing in Flint.  

The special testing will consist of the Entry Level Law Enforcement Exam, a trooper and motor carrier orientation, and the MCOLES Physical Fitness Test.

Interested applicants should send an email to msprecruiting@michigan.gov.  The email should include the following information: 

• Applicant’s Full name (first, middle, last)

• The test date of FEBURARY 8, 2014 and the location of UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN FLINT

• Applicant’s Date of birth (month, date, year)

• Applicant’s mailing address

For this special testing, space is limited and interested applicants should immediately send an email with the above information to msprecruiting@michigan.gov.  Upon receipt of the email, applicants will receive further information from Michigan State Police Recruiting and Selection Unit.
