 The following attorneys have been selected for the honor of “leader in the Law” by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. The title is given to attorneys who have had significant accomplishments and achievements in law practice; provided outstanding contributions to the practice of law in Michigan; supplied leadership in improving the justice system in Michigan; sought improvements to the legal community and their communities at large and set examples for other lawyers. Hilger, Brown and 28 others chosen from nominees state-wide will receive recognition at a luncheon March 20.

 

Stephen Hilger of Hilger Hammond, PC

Attorney Stephen A. Hilger is engaged in complex commercial litigation with an emphasis on construction law. He has tried many cases in multiple state courts, and has appeared in state courts of appeal, the Michigan Supreme Court, United States District Courts, United States District Courts of Appeal, and multiple arbitration tribunals across the country. He is involved in extensive contract preparation and review, including construction industry contracts, material purchase orders, vendor agreements, Uniform Commercial Code documents, licensing agreements, and multiple other commercial contracts and related documents.

Jim Brown concentrates his law practice in municipal law and real property law. He represents many townships, villages, cities and other municipal bodies throughout West Michigan and elsewhere in the state.
