Varnum announces the election of Linsey Gleason, Stephen F. MacGuidwin and Timothy P. Monsma to the partnership.
Gleason joined Varnum as an associate in 2008 and is a member of the firm's estate planning group. Her practice includes full-service estate plan preparation, estate and trust administration, guardianship and conservatorship services, elder law advice and special needs trusts. Gleason is active in the community including serving as a council member for Gilda's LaughFest, as Vice Chair of the board for Senior Neighbors Inc., and on the Holland Home Foundation Board.
MacGuidwin is a trial lawyer, practicing in finance, healthcare, and technology industries. In 2013, he was a member of a team that secured the second largest judgment in Michigan in Hi-Lex Controls v. Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan. He defended the judgment on appeal, including before the U.S. Supreme Court. MacGuidwin is president of Habitat Young Professionals and vice president of the Federalist Society - West Michigan Chapter. He joined the firm as an associate in 2009, after serving as a federal law clerk for the Hon. Raymond W. Gruender, US Court of Appeals Eighth Circuit.
Monsma is a member of the firm's trial law group, focusing on complex business disputes including commercial tort and contract litigation, trade secret, unfair competition, and corporate governance matters. Monsma joined Varnum as an associate in 2008. He currently serves on several boards, including South End Community Outreach Ministries, the Literacy Center of W. MI, and the Conductive Learning Center.
