Warner welcomes first class of all-women attorneys



Warner Norcross + Judd LLP welcomes eight new attorneys to the firm in its first all-women class.

The new attorneys, who have all be admitted to the bar, will practice in the firm’s Grand Rapids office unless otherwise noted. They are:

—Ojone E. Ameadaji, who received her law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law, where she was senior articles editor for the Journal of Transnational Law and Contemporary Problems and held a legal externship with the Office of the Dean of Students. Her bachelor’s degree, with honors, is from Calvin College, in strategic communications and business.

—Alexandra E. Chitwood, who received her law degree cum laude from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, and was executive editor of the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies. She completed her bachelor magna cum laude in diplomacy and global politics from Miami University of Ohio. Chitwood was a judicial extern to Chief Justice Loretta Rush, Indiana Supreme Court.

—Sarah Harper, who received her law degree cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School and a BBA summa cum laude, plus an associate’s in legal studies, from Ferris State University.

—Nina E. Lucido, who received her J.D. summa cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law where she was notes editor for the Michigan State University Law Review and certified as a civil mediator. She holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in sociology from U of M. Lucido served as a judicial intern for Michigan Supreme Court Justice David Viviano and as a clerk at the MSU Office of the General Counsel. Lucido will be in the Macomb office.

—Brianna Richardson, who received her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law where she was the topics editor of Elder Law Journal. She holds a bachelor’s degree cum laude in sport and entertainment management from the University of South Carolina. Richardson served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Susan E. Cox, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois.

—Nicole A. Samuel, who received her law degree summa cum laude from the MSU College of Law, where she was Order of the Coif and managing editor of the Michigan State University Law Review. Her undergrad degree is in criminal justice, also from MSU where she worked as a police cadet. She held an externship with the Shiawassee County Prosecutor.

—Ewelina M. Sawicka, who got her law degree magna cum laude from Wayne State University Law School, where she was Order of the Coif and assistant editor of Wayne Law Review. Her bachelor’s is from MSU in comparative cultures and politics. Fluent in Polish, she served as a legal intern for the U.S. Attorney Eastern District of Michigan and a judicial intern for the Detroit Immigration Court. Sawicka practices in Southfield.

—Kaitlin D. Sheets, who received her J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, and was executive symposium editor for the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies. She holds a bachelor’s degree cum laude in economics and communication from Denison University. Sheets was a clerk for the Hon. Thomas L. Ludington of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
