Fraser Trebilcock adds two associate attorneys to firm

Fraser Trebilcock is pleased to announce the addition of R. Paul Vance and Shaina R. Reed as associate attorneys.

Vance, who focuses his practice in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Business & Tax, and Insurance Defense, has been honored as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” each year since 2012.

He earned his undergraduate degree in history from Michigan State University where he was a four-year varsity letter winner on the men's soccer team, was honored as Academic All-Big Ten, and he also served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

He earned his J.D. from MSU College of Law, where he was the recipient of the Jurisprudence Achievement Award for Labor Arbitration and  was a law clerk to Judges Robert M. Ransom and Robert E. Weiss.

Vance returned to Lansing after practicing law in Flint for more than a decade, where he previously worked as a court officer and law Clerk to Judge Richard B. Yuille of the Genesee County Circuit Court.

He served on the Board of Directors of the Genesee County Bar Association, and as chair of the Young Lawyers Section. He also served as president of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Genesee County Division.

He serves on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel and is president of the MSU Varsity ‘S’ Club.

He previously served on the State Bar of Michigan Young Lawyers Section Executive Council.

Reed, who focuses her practice in the areas of Labor, Employment & Civil Rights, Insurance Defense, and Commercial Litigation, has been honored as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in Civil Litigation, Employment and Labor, and Civil Rights since 2014 and was named to Hour Detroit “Top Attorneys in Michigan Rising Stars” in 2015.

She earned her undergraduate degree in international relations from James Madison College at MSU, and her J.D. from The John Marshall Law School, where she was a Dean Scholarship recipient during her entire enrollment, and was selected for the Comparative Trial Advocacy Course in Dublin, Ireland.

Reed, who has been practicing law in the Lansing area for the past five years, has been published by the Michigan Court of Appeals for her opinion on Niederhouse v Roscommon Co. argued before the Michigan Court of Appeals.
