The deadline to apply for an Ingham County Bar Foundation grant is 5 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 31.
The 501(c)(3) nonprofit ICBF was established in 2002 for lawyers and others to make charitable contributions for the benefit of persons and organizations in Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties.
The ICBF Foundation Board of Directors places a priority on programs and applicants meeting one or more of these criteria:
Programs which demonstrate innovative approaches or new ideas; benefit Ingham, Eaton and/or Clinton County residents; have potential for independent continuity; demonstrate community support; avoid duplication of services; address underserved needs or populations; use challenge grants or other fund-matching arrangements to augment Foundation funds.
Applicants who have a history reflecting clear ability to deliver quality service; demonstrate cooperative efforts between service providers; request funds for services rather than capital expenses; have sources of income in addition to the Foundation funds requested.

Applicants will be notified in writing by Dec. 29 of the disposition of any grant application.
